Campus Security Mission Statement

In the educational environment of which it is an integral part, the Campus Security Department’s mission is to preserve the peace and protect life and property in a manner that is sensitive to the rights of individuals and to the values of the University. In fulfilling this mission, the Campus Security Department stresses patrol, crime prevention and community service over other functions.

USF Campus Security is staffed 24 hours a day/7-days a week/365 days a year.

Objectives of USF Campus Security Department:

  • To provide a safe and secure environment for members of the USF community.

  • To ensure the continued operation of USF to fulfill its mission to foster academic excellence and the development of mature Christian persons for service to God and humankind in the world.

  • To provide an educational crime prevention program through example, instruction and awareness.

  • To maintain high levels of cooperation between Campus Security and law enforcement authorities.
