The Director of Campus Security is responsible for addressing safety concerns from students, staff and faculty members of the University of Sioux Falls. And addressing those concerns in a timely and satisfactorily manner. Please visit the listed links for campus security information.

Campus Security Mission Statement
In the educational environment of which it is an integral part, the Campus Security Department’s mission is to preserve the peace and protect live and property in a manner that is sensitive to the rights of individual and the values of a university. In fulfilling the mission, the Campus Security Department will stress patrol, crime prevention and community service over other functions.

Objectives
The objectives of the Campus Security Department are
  • to provide a safe and secure environment for the member of the educational community
  • to ensure the continued operation of the University to fulfill its mission of teaching, research and community service
  • to provide an educational crime prevention program through example, instruction and awareness
  • to maintain high levels of cooperation between the Department and law enforcement authorities
Everyday campus security measures include:
  • Locking the facilities at scheduled times.
  • Checking facilities for fire or vandalism.
  • Checking facilities for lights, heat, power outages and water problems.
  • Monitoring and reporting criminal activity on campus.
  • Summoning the Sioux Falls Police Department to help with emergency situations.
