Description:

Offered to full-time undergraduate students who are seeking a high-need major as recognized by South Dakota. Recipients must be selected by the state Dakota Corps committee as a scholarship recipient.

Application Process:

A limited number of students graduating from a South Dakota high school with a minimum of 26 ACT and a 2.8 GPA will be awarded a Dakota Corps Scholarship  based on the number of students who qualify through the state.  Students must major in a high-need field and agree to work in South Dakota following graduation.

National Merit Scholarship Full Tuition  
Description:

The University of Sioux Falls offers a full-tuition scholarship to National Merit Finalists. The scholarship amount is set for all 4 years (8 semesters) based on tuition cost as a freshman. Students must submit documentation of their achievement from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation/Program. Must maintain a 3.5 cGPA in order to remain eligible.

SAT scores effective March 1, 2016.  If you took an SAT test prior to March 1, 2016 please contact the USF Admissions office to determine your academic scholarship amount. New students attending USF as full-time freshmen will be considered for ONE of the Merit Scholarships. Merit Scholarships are determined at the time of admission to USF. Unless otherwise noted, no additional application is required.

To be eligible, students must meet all USF requirements for full admission for the fall or spring semesters. Students receiving academic scholarships are not eligible for additional University Scholarships, but they may apply for Performance Scholarships. Students receiving Dakota Corps Scholarships are not eligible for additional aid, including Performance Scholarships. Students receiving Achievement or Recognition Scholarships may apply for ONE additional scholarship, being either a Performance Scholarship, except an athletic scholarship, or a University Scholarship.

Description:

Offered to full-time transfer students during the 2016-17 academic year seeking their first bachelor's degree based on academic achievement.

Application Process:

Average award criteria is a cumulative GPA from college coursework of 2.5

New transfer students attending USF as full-time undergrads who have completed 12 credit hours or more after high school will be considered for ONE of the above Merit Scholarships.

Accelerated Nursing, RN-BSN, and Degree Completion Program studnets are not eligible for a Merit Scholarship.

Athletics Amounts Vary

Full-time undergraduate students who are admitted to USF as degree-seeking and meet NCAA Division II eligibility criteria may be approved by the Head Coach based on talent and participation.

 
Description:

Students who will be enrolled as full-time undergraduate students. This includes athletic scholarships offered in NCAA varsity sports as well as Cheerleading.

Students who are offered Performance Scholarships are eligible for ONE additional Merit Scholarship and are ineligible for additional University Scholarships. Students receiving athletic scholarships are not eligble for Achievement, Recognition, or Transitions Scholarships.

Student must be admitted to USF as full-time degree-seeking undergraduate and must submit a copy of their Phi Theta Kappa membership card at the time of admissions application.

Offered to full-time transfer students who have completed their Associate's degree and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Southeast Technical Institute Transfer Grant $3,000 ($1,500 per semester)

Student must be admitted to USF as a full-time undergraduate upon completion of their Associate degree from STI.

 
Description:

Offered to students transferring to USF from Southeast Technical Institute with a completed Associate's degree.

Lillibridge Entrepreneurial Scholarship $10,000
($2,500 annually /
$1,250 per semester)

Offered to full-time undergraduate students majoring in Entrepreneurial Studies. Preference will be given to students who come from entrepreneurial households, to students who own their own business, or to students who desire to be a business owner.

 
Description:

Applicant must major in Entrepreneurial Studies in the Vucurevich School of Business at USF and remain a full-time student (12+ credit hours). Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by January 1, 2017 and do so on an annual basis.

These scholarships are offered to full-time or part-time Avera employees and their dependent children and spouses who are enrolled in a degree seeking program at the University of Sioux Falls. Verification must completed each year.

Endowed Scholarships Vary

Scholarship requirements are set by donors through contracts with the University. Students submitting an application by March 1st and meet the donors requirements will be considered for an Endowed Scholarship.

International Student Scholarship Amounts Vary

Students from a country outside of the U.S. must be admitted to USF as full-time undergraduate students who show financial ability to cover the remaining financial requirements. Students receiving this scholarship are not eligible for any additional University aid.

 
Description:

Offered to full-time students who are not citizens of the United States. Students will compete for different amounts. Students need to complete an application and letters of recomendation to qualify.

Level 1- $20,000 scholarship & students are required to have a minimum 3.9 GPA. Level 2- $16,000 scholarship & students are required to have a minimum 3.7 GPA. Level 3- $13,000 scholarship.

Tuition Exchange Scholarship Full Tuition

A student must be admitted to USF as full-time undergraduate. Student's parent must work at an institution that participates in an exchange program.

 
Description:

The University of Sioux Falls is a participating member in three tuition exchange programs: Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, Council for Independent Colleges, and Tuition Exchange, Inc. Students eligible to participate in the tuition exchange programs are those whose parent works full-time at an institution that participates in any of these exchange programs. A limited number of students will be awarded each year.

Jump Start Scholarship $1,500 (First year of college)

The Jump Start Scholarship is offered to students who graduate from a public high school in three years or less. Students will be eligible for $1,500 to be distributed equally across both Fall and Spring semesters during their first year of postsecondary enrollment. No student who enrolls in a high school for all or any part of a fourth year is eligible for the Jump Start Scholarship program.

South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship $6,500 over 4 years

Students must graduate from a South Dakota high school with a 24 or higher ACT and a 3.0 or higher GPA. Students must also complete a set of high school course requirements and must submit an application by September 1st for the fall or January 15th for spring.

Offered to students from South Dakota who meet the minimum scholarship criteria and application deadline.  The scholarship amount is spread over the course of 4 years following high school graduation.

Yellow Ribbon Military Scholarship ($2,400 total from USF)

The Yellow Ribbon matching program is available to students who are certified 100% eligible, submit a certificate of eligibility and complete the campus application through the USF Registrar's Office. The Yellow Ribbon Scholarship and VA match for full-time students are applied during the spring semester pending payment from the Veteran's Administration. Limited spaces available and filled on a first-come first-qualified basis so early applications are encouraged.
