Carol Flower is in her fourteenth year as a member of the music faculty at the University of Sioux Falls. She is Director of the Keyboard Studies Program, teaching applied piano, class piano, piano pedagogy, and piano literature. In addition, she is staff accompanist for the music department.
Ms. Flower received her Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Michigan School of Music and her Bachelor of Arts degree in music and English from Augustana College (SD). She has done post-graduate work in music at the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, and at Northwestern University (IL). In the summer of 2002, Ms. Flower was one of twenty professional accompanists selected by audition to perform in the Seminar on Vocal Accompanying presented for professional accompanists by Northwestern University.
During the course of her career, Ms. Flower has been a performer, teacher, clinician, and adjudicator. She has held positions of leadership in the numerous music organizations to which she has belonged. She is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), in which she holds the Permanent Professional Certificate, and is also a current member of the South Dakota Music Teachers Association.
