Nancy Wilcoxson joined the music faculty of the University of Sioux Falls in 1988 and assumed a full-time position in 2006. She teaches private voice, directs the mixed chorus Cantare, and teaches a variety of courses, including Foundations of Music Theory, Theory I, Vocal Pedagogy, Diction, Music History, and Introduction to Music. Ms. Wilcoxson is a graduate of the University of Sioux Falls, holds a Master of Music degree from the University of South Dakota, and has completed doctoral class work at the University of Northern Colorado.
Ms. Wilcoxson is a veteran judge and active vocal and choral clinician. She has adjudicated voice contests across South Dakota and has served as a judge for the South Dakota Honor Choir and the Music Teachers National Association. A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the Music Teachers National Association, Ms. Wilcoxson also serves as Vice-President of Sounds of South Dakota, an organization committed to promoting opera in South Dakota.
Ms. Wilcoxson has been married to Kirby, also a USF faculty member, for over 29 years. They have two daughters, Nicole and Danielle.
