Students individually study with instructors who are instrument and voice specialists. At USF, performance opportunities include concerts, studio classes, theatre performances, chapel services, and recitals both for majors and non-majors.
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
If you enjoy music and have a desire to turn your passion into a career, a Music degree from the University of Sioux Falls will give you the opportunity to explore many avenues of music, including writing, performing, teaching, directing and producing. The music faculty at USF will prepare you to use your musical abilities in a variety of careers and challenge you to reach your potential with each lecture, private lesson and performance.
- Music Education
If you have a passion for music and a desire to serve others through teaching, a Music Education degree from the University of Sioux Falls will prepare you for meaningful service in the classroom. USF’s Fredrikson School of Education is accredited by the South Dakota Division of Education and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. Through this program you will learn a variety of skills and methodologies that will enable you to teach general music education to grades K-12 or instrumental and/or vocal music at the K-12 level.
- Music Ministry
If you enjoy music and have a desire to serve others, a Music Ministry degree from the University of Sioux Falls will give you the necessary musical abilities and knowledge of the Word of God to work as a minister of worship and music in a local church or parachurch agency. In addition, with supplementary training, you will be equipped to serve in the pastorate, Christian education, missionary service, campus ministry, media and arts ministry or institutional chaplaincy.
