The Music Department serves students of all academic disciplines, with opportunities to major in music or to participate as a non-major in a variety of vocal and instrumental ensembles. Performance and participation scholarships are available for interested students. New and Noteworthy in the USF Music Department: Ensemble Auditions September 7 The Fall Semester at USF is about to begin!  If you sing or play an instrument, be sure to sign up for a musical ensemble!  The University's newest choir, Cantare, is looking for singers of every vocal type, and instrumentalists are always needed in Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, or Chamber Strings.  Schedule an audition today by contacting one of our music faculty members or by signing up in the Music suite in the Jeschke Fine Arts Center!    Music Lessons Available to All USF Students! The USF Music Department offers private instruction for voice and any instrument you might want to study.  If you ever wanted to become a better singer, improve your performance skills on an instrument, or if you've always wanted to take up music but never have, contact the Music Department to sign up for private lessons! If you're a music scholarship student, at USF, check in with Prof. Nancy Wilcoxson or Dr. Jonathan Neiderhiser to schedule lessons with your private teacher. Music Lesson Meeting/Music Major Picnic If you are a music major or minor, or if you're signed up for private lessons at USF, mark your calendars for Monday, September 13!  At 4:00 in Z-Hall, we'll hold a meeting for all students taking private lessons.  You'll learn all about our lesson program and have a chance to get all of your questions answered! Following the lesson meeting, Music majors and minors will assemble for the annual Music Major Picnic.  Meet our newest majors/minors, catch up with your friends in the department, and get the latest news on the upcoming academic year!
