Our official Music Scholarship Days are Monday, November 12 and Monday, February 18th but you can contact us to schedule a time for your scholarship audition.
Don't miss your chance to be a part of USF's vibrant Music department -- and receive money to do so! Our music scholarships are available to any student who wants to participate in a University of Sioux Falls music ensemble, regardless of major. If you sing in a school or church choir; play in your school's band or orchestra; or if you just want to make music and forge life-long friendships with fellow students, then you should take advantage of USF's generous music scholarship program!
Although you may audition individually, we strongly encourage you to participate in one of our Music Scholarship Days. These events are more than just a chance to meet the music faculty and play a short audition; you'll sit in on a rehearsal with one of our vocal or instrumental ensembles and to perform side-by-side with USF students! Since these opportunities coincide with Admissions Days, you'll also have an opportunity to tour campus, meet with admissions and financial aid, speak with students and professors. Lunch is also provided.
Applying for a music scholarship is easy – first review our Music Scholarship Audition Guidelines, then sign-up today!
These awards stipulate that recipients participate in a musical ensemble and take applied music lessons each semester they receive a music scholarship. Scholarship recipients must take Foundations of Music Theory within the first two years of receiving the scholarship. Selection of recipients and award amounts are determined by an audition and application process, which is completed by March 1 each year. Students may audition after March 1, but scholarship funds may be exhausted.
