The goals of the Public Accounting and Business Administration major are to provide basic knowledge in the core areas of business and competency in public accounting, develop the student's strategic/critical thinking skills encompassing the ability to link data, knowledge and insight together from various disciplines, and facilitate the student's understanding of the relationship between ethics, business and personal faith.
Students with this major have many options for employment. They may choose to enter the Public Accounting field by working in a CPA firm. Students may instead opt for a career in Business, using their added financial knowledge to their advantage in the fields of banking, finance, or management. Whether the CPA exam is an ultimate goal or not, the Public Accounting and Business Administration major will find they have an advantage in their chosen field with their added knowledge, be it business or accounting.
In addition to the University's Liberal Arts Core, Public Accounting & Business Administration students must complete the following courses with a "C-" grade or better:
