Fine Arts

Students from every academic major participate in the arts at USF. Performance scholarships are awarded to majors and non-majors alike. Application Details

To consider your application complete USF will need to receive the following items:

  • Submit an online application – no application fee.
  • Send us your official high school transcript.
  • Send us a standardized test scores from either from ACT or SAT.
    The USF code number for the ACT is 3920
    The USF code number for the SAT is 6651.
  • Transcripts of all previous college work, if applicable

Once all the appropriate forms have been submitted, you can expect to hear from USF regarding the status of your application within 2 weeks.

Admission Standards
  1. Achieve a minimum 2.8 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  2. Earn a composite ACT score of at least 20 (or equivalent SAT scores).
    The USF code number for the ACT is 3920
    The USF code number for the SAT is 6651.
  3. Complete college preparatory high school core curriculum:
    • English (4 units)
    • Math (3 units of Algebra I or above)
    • Lab Science (3 units)
    • Social Studies (2 units)
    • Foreign Language (2 units) is also recommended

If you do not meet the above criteria, we still encourage you to apply for admission. In some cases students who do not meet the admissions requirements outlined above you may be granted conditional acceptance with the opportunity to be fully accepted after the completion of one successful semester.

Estimate Your Scholarship

All students are considered for an academic scholarship and notified of their scholarship at the time of admittance. Use your test score and GPA to estimate your academic scholarship amount offered each year.

After Acceptance

It's official! You're going to be a University of Sioux Falls Cougar! If you haven't already, please pay your $100 tuition deposit to hold your spot by May 1.

Applications for the Honors Program

The Honors Program requires a separate application, in addition to acceptance into USF. Applications into the Honors Program are due by April 1.


Information for Accepted Students

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Sioux Falls!

You've completed an application and received your USF acceptance letter. Now it's time to complete these five steps to reserve your spot in the USF Class of 2021.

Now what?

Pay $100 Tuition Deposit

This tuition deposit allows you to register for classes at USF and applies to your first semester's tuition. Your deposit if fully refundable until May 1, and you may submit your deposit online, through mail or by calling USF Admissions at 800-888-1047.

Attend Accepted Student Day

Each year, USF hosts two campus visit days for Accepted Students. If one of these days won't work for you, that's okay. Schedule Your USF Campus Visit for a day and time that will accommodate your busy schedule.

Apply for Financial Aid

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) allows you to be considered for aid from Federal Financial Aid Programs. It is highly recommended that you submit the FAFSA, even if you think your family may not qualify.

Complete your FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1, and include USF school code (003469).  USF has a priority filing date of January 1 for the FAFSA. The USF Financial Aid Office begins sending out Official Award Notifications after January 1. After this point, students receive rolling notifications.

Campus Housing

University of Sioux Falls residence life emphasizes the intrinsic value of each person and endeavors to create opportunities for students to find value in the diverse gifts and talents of each member of the USF community.

Submit your housing application and $100 deposit by May 1. Room assignment notifications begin in June for the fall semester.

Attend New Student Registration Day

NSR - that's what we call it - is the day you meet individually with a professor for academic advising, register for classes and become an enrolled student at the University of Sioux Falls.

Provide proof of your Immunization Records. Return the completed form prior to the start of classes at USF.

Final Transcripts

An official, final high school transcript showing a graduation date must be sent directly from your school to the Admissions Office.

If applicable, have official advanced placement scores and/or college transcripts sent directly to the Admissions Office. If you are a transfer student, all previous college transcripts must be mailed directly from the issuing institution to the Admissions Office.

Countdown to Move-in Day and New Student Orientation!

New Student Orientation begins with Move-In Day on Saturday, August 26. You may begin moving into your residence hall at 9 a.m. Transfer Orientation begins at 1:00 and Freshmen Orientation begins at 2:00 p.m.
