To consider your application complete USF will need to receive the following items:
Once all the appropriate forms have been submitted, you can expect to hear from USF regarding the status of your application within 2 weeks.
- Admission Standards
- Achieve a minimum 2.8 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Earn a composite ACT score of at least 20 (or equivalent SAT scores).
The USF code number for the ACT is 3920
The USF code number for the SAT is 6651.
- Complete college preparatory high school core curriculum:
- English (4 units)
- Math (3 units of Algebra I or above)
- Lab Science (3 units)
- Social Studies (2 units)
- Foreign Language (2 units) is also recommended
If you do not meet the above criteria, we still encourage you to apply for admission. In some cases students who do not meet the admissions requirements outlined above you may be granted conditional acceptance with the opportunity to be fully accepted after the completion of one successful semester.

- Estimate Your Scholarship
All students are considered for an academic scholarship and notified of their scholarship at the time of admittance. Use your test score and GPA to estimate your academic scholarship amount offered each year.

Information for Accepted Students
Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Sioux Falls!
You've completed an application and received your USF acceptance letter. Now it's time to complete these five steps to reserve your spot in the USF Class of 2021.
- Step #1 - Pay $100 Tuition Deposit
This tuition deposit allows you to register for classes at USF and applies to your first semester's tuition. Your deposit if fully refundable until May 1, and you may submit your deposit online, through mail or by calling USF Admissions at 800-888-1047.
- Step #2 - Attend Accepted Student Day
Each year, USF hosts two campus visit days for Accepted Students. If one of these days won't work for you, that's okay. Schedule Your USF Campus Visit for a day and time that will accommodate your busy schedule.
- Step #3 - File Your FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) allows you to be considered for aid from Federal Financial Aid Programs. It is highly recommended that you submit the FAFSA, even if you think your family may not qualify.
Complete your FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1, and include USF school code (003469). USF has a priority filing date of January 1 for the FAFSA. The USF Financial Aid Office begins sending out Official Award Notifications after February 1.
- Step #4 - Submit Housing Deposit and Application
University of Sioux Falls residence life emphasizes the intrinsic value of each person and endeavors to create opportunities for students to find value in the diverse gifts and talents of each member of the USF community.
Submit your housing application and $100 deposit.
- Step #5 - Attend New Student Registration Day
NSR - that's what we call it - is the day you meet individually with a professor for academic advising, register for classes and become an enrolled student at the University of Sioux Falls.

It's official! You're going to be a University of Sioux Falls Cougar! If you haven't already, please pay your $100 tuition deposit to hold your spot.
- Review and accept your financial aid package.
- Continue checking your email for important updates from the University of Sioux Falls Admissions Office, such as information regarding your housing assignment, Move-in Day and New Student Orientation.
- Countdown to Move-in Day and New Student Orientation!
