In order to qualify for Federal Financial Aid, you must plan to enroll in at least 6 (six) credit hours during the summer sessions if you are an undergraduate student or 4.5 credit hours as a graduate student. These credits can be split between the two summer sessions or taken during one session. To receive Summer School Financial Aid, you must have completed and submitted a 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or a 2010-2011 FAFSA .
If you are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant in either the 2009-2010 academic year or the 2010-2011 academic year, you may be eligible to receive an additional Federal Pell Grant for the 2010 summer term.
If you are awarded a Federal Stafford Loan, your Stafford Loan eligibility for the 2010-2011 academic year will be reduced (i.e. you will not be able to borrow as much for next year). The federal government allows you to borrow up to the annual loan limit for your grade level over a 12 month period. (Summer plus academic year.) The 12 month period begins with the first session, June 1, 2010. Please borrow wisely. Cost per credit for undergraduate courses is $280. Cost per credit for graduate courses varies by program.
You must complete the Summer School Financial Aid Request Form to be considered for summer school aid.
If you are interested in working on campus this summer (either part time or full time), please complete the Summer Work-study Request Form AND contact the Federal Work-study coordinator by calling 605-331-6623 or emailing
