The undergraduate and graduate teacher education programs of the university are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (MCATE). All undergraduate and graduate teacher education programs are also approved by the South Dakota Division of Education. The social work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. The university holds membership in the South Dakota Association of Independent Colleges, the Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities and the Colleges of Mid-America.
