|
Faculty Vacancy Announcement for Theatre/Performing Arts
The University of Sioux Falls invites applications for a full-time
tenure-track faculty position to begin in the fall of 2013 in Theatre and
Performing Arts. Rank and salary are commensurate with education and
experience. Applications will be reviewed beginning immediately; however,
applications will be accepted until the position is successfully filled.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate must possess a qualifying
terminal degree (MFA, Ph.D., Ed.D. or other advanced degree in related area)
and have demonstrated experience in producing successful and varied types of
theatre productions. In addition the candidate must possess successful
higher education teaching in theatre as well as demonstrated leadership
capacity to create, organize, and implement large projects. A
demonstrated capacity relative to team-building across multiple disciplines
within the performing arts area is a key component of the position.
In addition, a proven record of engaging and recruiting students, and innovation
in effectively using organizational resources to achieve established goals with
a collegial and mission driven approach. Proven skills in written, oral
and interpersonal communication and the experience and ability to teach
effectively are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Direct theatre program, to include primary
charge for productions
·
Teach assigned course-load within the
Communication Studies and Theatre (CST) department and/or other areas deemed
necessary by the University
·
Provide regular academic advising with students
in the CST major and others as assigned
·
Oversee budget for Theatre Department and other
assigned administrative duties
·
Engage students in theatre productions, box
office sales, projects and events
·
Work in conjunction with admissions department
for the purpose of meeting student recruitment goals for the theatre program
·
Provide leadership in advancing the institution
through collaboration of performing arts area, especially as it relates to
external outreach and development
·
Serve as liaison between the University and
external organizations for the purpose of seeking positive University exposure
leading to mutually beneficial community and regional partnerships
·
Seek and develop innovative programming within
the performing arts designed to engage the external community and enhance
student recruitment efforts for the University
·
Effectively supervise personnel hired to assist
with theatre productions and/or within the CST department
·
Additional responsibilities include
undergraduate advising, program assessment, and service on faculty
committees

Head Women’s Softball Coach

applications for a full-time Head Women’s Softball Coach to begin July 2013. USF is a member of the NCAA Division II and
a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Job Description
The position is a full-time, 12 month
commitment and reports to the Director of Athletics and VP for Student
Development. The head coach will provide leadership and oversee the overall
direction of the Women’s Softball program. The position includes Head Coaching
duties (approximately 70%) and Athletic Administrative (approximately 30%)
responsibilities. The applicant must demonstrate exemplary leadership,
recruiting and coaching skills, and a thorough knowledge and adherence to
compliance of all NCAA applicable procedures, rules, and regulations. The
successful applicant will have demonstrated fundraising success and collegiate
softball playing and/or coaching experience, NCAA preferred.
Qualifications
The successful applicant
must have significant knowledge of and demonstrated success in coaching
softball, recruitment and retention of student-athletes, fundraising and strong
motivation skills, preferably at the collegiate level. The individual must demonstrate
the ability to work effectively in the environment of a Christian higher
education institution and abide by all NCAA DII, Northern Sun Conference and University
policies. A bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree preferred, with
three to five years of coaching experience or a combination of collegiate
softball playing and coaching experience. Preference
will be given to candidate with successful recruiting and fund-raising
experience. Candidates must have an understanding of the mission of the
University of Sioux Falls and must demonstrate a strong professional work ethic
and an unwavering commitment to the academic success of students. Travel is
necessary with a valid driver’s license and the ability to successfully pass a
background check is required.

Part-time Faculty Vacancy – Instructor of Graphic Design
The University of Sioux Falls invites applications for an Instructor
of Art, Graphic Design to begin the Fall of 2013. Position will be considered less
than full-time with rank and salary commensurate with education and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree required. A candidate
with an earned bachelor’s degree and a Master’s in process will be considered
if significant experience in the field and evidence of successful teaching is demonstrated.
The successful applicant will have
teaching experience, preferably in higher education. The ideal candidate will
have demonstrated experience in the field of graphic design. Candidates should
be committed to academic excellence in a liberal arts environment as well as a
have a personal commitment to the Christian faith.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a part-time, faculty position teaching
courses which may include, but not limited to, Digital Photography I, Photography
II (primarily digital), Photography III, Graphic Design: Layout, Graphic
Design: Imaging, Advanced Graphic Design. The successful candidate will be
committed to active engagement with students, the University's mission, and
teaching and scholarship at a Christian liberal arts university and preparing
students for success in the field of graphic design. Responsibilities may also include
academic advising of students and serving on faculty committees.
