Q: Where do I get my network account and password?
A: During registration you will be assigned a Network Account.

Q: How do I renew my Network account?
A: Renewing your network account is done at validation time. If you cannot renew at this time contact the network administrator. phone: 331-6674 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Q: How do I change my password?
A: Hold down CONTROL + ALT + DELETE and click on change password and fill in the needed information. When done, click OK and then click CANCEL on the windows security window. Your password is now changed. (for WINDOWS logon password ONLY!)
Q: Can students publish web pages on the USF server?
A: Yes, all USF students may have a private web account to publish personal pages on. All pages published on the USF Server however must comply with all policies of USF .
Q: Is Printing in the labs Free?
A: Yes. There is currently no charge for printing in the campus computer labs. Printers in campus labs are set up to receive print jobs only from the computers in that lab. Students are advised to bring printers for their personal computers.

Q: What is a valid Ethernet address?
A: An Ethernet address is an identification number unique to every Ethernet card. This address is how the boot-p server recognizes a computer and issues it an IP address. Ethernet addresses are hexadecimal. That is, addresses can contain the numbers 0-9 and the first six letters of the alphabet. Ethernet addresses are 12 characters long and almost always start with a 00. If your address begins with 44, that is the address for your ppp adapter, and not your Ethernet card.

Q: Is it necessary to bring a computer to campus?
A: .No. We don't require students bring a computer. Computer labs can be found in the Library, in classroom buildings around campus, and in the residence halls.

Q: How do I get my computer connected to the internet from my dorm room?
A: USF provides direct connection to the internet for on-campus students. Click here for ResNet instructions
