“They will enterhis gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise…” (Psalms 100:4). It isthrough worship that we are ushered into the throne room.
It is in thisyearning to encounter the King, to draw nearer to His throne, to delight in Hispresence that Desire enters thestage. Building off of a foundation laid by Momentum, one of USF’s past ministries, Sunday night worship is making its way back ontoour campus. It comes to us carrying a new name and a new face but the sameaspiration – a gathering of students, passionately pursuing the Father’s heartthrough a moment of worship in hopeto fuel a lifestyle of worship.
Speakingpersonally, the hope for Desire wasbirthed in my heart this past summer, after God spoke clearly to me the words:“Revival will come to USF’s campus through the product of a worship movement.Lead it.” I told Him, “That’s awesome! I love it! There’s just one problem…Ican’t lead worship.” Only a minor detail, right?
I’ve watched thedream of Desire grow over the pastcouple months since those words were planted alongside much doubt in my mind.Humbly, I’ve been drawn to the realization that every dream in my heart first startsin His own, and when He calls, He provides. Since His calling, I have listenedas an abundance of friends, strangers and classmates have expressed the samelonging that had been planted in their heart and watched as warriors rise upand Desire falls together – by nopower other then the power of God.
It is time nowthat we invite YOU to be a part of this movement.
Whether you havea heart for worship, the gifts to play, the voice to sing, or a longing topray, there is a place for you in this vision. If you yearn for revival or longfor refreshment, if you hunger for support or thirst for community, if you acheto serve and crave to know His heart, if you desire to rest in His presence and declare fearlessly His name, join us. It is our heart to release anarmy of students passionate about His name; not to just be consumers of Hispresence but producers of a community striving to make His name famous.
Sophomore, NikkiStahl, puts it this way, “I really want Desireto be a place where we can gather together and passionately worship our Creatorand Savior. But not to stop there! I then want us to go out and worship Himthrough service…together. I believe it will increase our personal desire forGod.
