Directions:  Follow the links and complete the activities at each.  Once you have completed the activities, answer the questions.  Have Fun!

1.  Site:  Weight in Other Worlds

    A.  How much would you weigh on Jupiter?
 

    B.  How much would you weigh on Pluto?
 

2.  Site:  Biodiversity Hotspots (Click on the little map picture.  It takes a second to load.)

    A.  Click on the Mediterranean Basin.  How many endemic plant species are located in this region?

    B.  How many threatened birds are located in Madagascar?  (The large island off the coast of Africa.)

3. Site:  EdHeads.com
   A.  Click on the Virtual Hip Replacement.  Click Start.  Go through the tutorial.  MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW ALL THE DIRECTIONS.  WE WOULDN'T WANT THE PATIENT TO BLEED TO DEATH.

    B.  Go Back to EdHeads.com.  Click on the Simple Machines link.  Click on the Tool Shed.  Choose one of the 4 compound machines.  What simple machines are in the compound machine you picked?

4.  Site:  Electric Circuits

    A.  Click Enter, and complete the tutorial for Section 1.  Define a circuit.

    B.  Go back to Electric Circuits.  Continue on to Section 2.  Define both an insulator and a conductor.

5.  Site:  WebElements.com

    A.  What is the symbol for Calcium?

    B.  Click on calcium's symbol.  What is calcium's classification?

6.  Site:  PBSKids Virtual Chemistry Kitchen

    A.  Click on the Virtual Chemistry Kitchen.  Find the clue that answers each question.  What does it take to launch a rocket?

    B.  What does red cabbage juice do to acids?

7.  Site:  Cells Alive

    A.  Once the clip has loaded, press play.  Why would this be useful in the classroom?

    B.  How many phases are in Meiosis I?  Meiosis II?

8  Site:  Biomes of the World

    A.  Pick a biome.  What is one interesting fact about this region?

    B.  Pick a biome.  What is one interesting fact about this region?

9.  Site:  Photosynthesis Tutorial

    A.  What is the first molecule of interest in the photosynthesis chain reaction?

    B.  What is the last molecule of interest in the photosynthesis chain reaction?

10.  Site:  Physics Life

    A.  Choose a building.  What devices use physics that surprised you?

    B.  Click on the clothes line.  What do your clothes dry faster outside than inside?
