If you have a passion for mathematics and a desire to serve others through teaching, a Mathematics Secondary Education Certification from USF will prepare you for meaningful service in the classroom. This degree provides you with a solid mathematical foundation to equip you as a high school math instructor who has pedagogical awareness and practical educational experience. Once you complete this program, you will have a B.S. degree in Mathematics and certification for teaching at the high school level.

The requirements for the Mathematics Secondary Education Certification are twofold. First you must take the required courses for the Mathematics major. Then you must complete the courses required for the Secondary Education major, including MAT 303 Foundations of Geometry and MAT 406 Teaching High School Mathematics.
