Satisfaction of employers (RA4.1)

Advanced Programs EMPLOYER SATISFACTION SURVEYS (CAEP R4.1) for 2021-22 are summarized as follows:  

In August 2022 program satisfaction surveys were received from 1 out of 3 employers of Ed.S. in Educational Administration/Superintendent Program 2021-2022 completers for a 33% response rate. The employer was very well satisfied with the preparation program regarding the relevance and effectiveness of the completer's preparation.

In summer 2022 program satisfaction surveys were received from 9 out of 12 employers of Ed.S. in Educational Administration/Principal Program 2021-2022 completers for a 75% response rate. All employers were satisfied, well satisfied, or very well satisfied with the preparation program regarding the relevance and effectiveness of the completer's preparation with a 4.0 category mean.

In summer 2022 program satisfaction surveys were received from 6 out of 11 employers of M.Ed. in Leadership 2021-2022 program completers for a 55% response rate. All employers rated their satisfaction as well satisfied or very well satisfied. Overall employers' satisfaction rated a 4.50 category mean.

In summer 2022 program satisfaction surveys were received from 7 out of 10 employers of M.Ed. in Reading 2021-2022 program completers for a 70% response rate. All employers were well or very well satisfied with the preparation program regarding the relevance and effectiveness of the completer's preparation, with a 4.71 category mean.

Stakeholder Involvement (RA5.3)

As a part of the Phase-In Plan for the advanced level, we initiated a Clinical Experiences Advisory Committee to augment stakeholder involvement and collaborate on planning quality clinical experiences. The purposes of the committee are: 1. development, review, or revision of clinical experience instruments and evaluations; 2. collaborative development, review or revision of the structure and content of the clinical activities; and 3. mutual involvement in ongoing decision-making about partnership structure and operations. The initial meeting was held Fall 2022. The FSOE continues its tradition of including external stakeholders in annual data review sessions each spring.

Candidate Competency at Completion (RA3.3)

For 2021-22, 100% of the M.Ed. Leadership, Ed.S. Principal, and Ed.S. Superintendent students successfully completed their internships in 2021-2022.

Advanced-level candidates complete programs designed to meet the exacting standards of the State of South Dakota and professional organizations. Multiple measures ensure the strength of their preparation, and the graduation rates from below show an excellent level of student success. Completers at the advanced level are able to meet state approved program standards for South Dakota as well as for other states.

Measure 4
Ability of Completers to be Hired in Education Positions for Which They Have Been Prepared.

Results are impressive for USF advanced-level programs, M.Ed. and Ed.S. The 2022 USF graduate outcomes study found 100% placement of completers within 6 months of graduation, and a 90% response rate to the survey was achieved.
