Medical Laboratory Science (B.S.)

If you choose to major in Medical Laboratory Science, you must pursue a minimum of three years at USF prior to entering the clinical year in a hospital’s accredited school of Medical Laboratory Science. College credit equivalent to one full calendar year in a hospital’s accredited program (34 semester hours) will be granted to students who successfully complete the professional (clinical) year’s program. A Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science from USF will then be conferred provided all other course requirements have been satisfied.

Some students elect to complete a four-year major in Biology or Chemistry at USF before applying for the professional year of experience. USF has an affiliation agreement with Sanford Health; however, students may elect to attend any other accredited professional program if successful in gaining admission.

COLLOQUIUM

Complete two semesters of colloquium during the junior year, one presentation required.
