Paramedic Technology Degree at USF

Major in Paramedic Technology at USF and you’ll be prepared to be an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic. The Paramedic Technology major provides an avenue for you to combine traditional undergraduate science coursework with instruction and professional experience from an accredited Paramedic Technology program.

As a Paramedic Technology major at USF, you must complete an accredited EMT-Paramedic Program and at least 120 semester hours from USF (including 44 semester hours of blanket credit). After you complete the EMT-Paramedic Program and pass the exams, the credits from that program will be transferred back to USF and you will be awarded a bachelor's degree upon completion of USF's graduation requirements. An individual who is already a certified EMT-Paramedic may receive the appropriate blanket credit in EMT-Paramedic Technology at USF after satisfying all of USF's requirements to receive the degree.

USF’s required Paramedic Technology courses combined with completion of an accredited EMT-Paramedic Program allow graduates to get top jobs in emergency medical settings. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of EMTs is expected to grow by 24 percent from 2014 to 2024, which is faster than the average for all occupations.
