USF to celebrate commencement May 4

SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota—The University of Sioux Falls will confer 422 total degrees on Sunday, May 4, at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. The graduate ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. and the undergraduate ceremony at 2:30 p.m. 

Total degrees to be conferred include 307 undergraduate students and 115 graduate students.

Sunday, May 4 Commencement details:

·       Graduate Commencement: Ceremony at 10 a.m., doors open at 9 a.m. for seating. No ticket required.

·       Undergraduate Commencement: Ceremony at 2:30 p.m., doors open at 1:30 p.m. for seating. Tickets will be required for all guests.

·       Ceremonies will take place at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, 1201 N. West Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104.

·       To watch the ceremonies via livestream, visit www.youtube.com/usiouxfalls 30 minutes prior to each ceremony.

Speakers will include Dr. Becky Thurman, director of graduate education, and Abby Knobloch and Grace Peace, 2025 graduates, for respective ceremonies.

Additional events listed below will celebrate the accomplishments of USF students this week:

·       Nursing Pinning Ceremony: 5 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025, Meredith Auditorium, Jeschke Fine Arts Center

o   This ceremony honors all accelerated and traditional nursing students.

·       Education Commissioning Ceremony: 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, Zbornik Hall, Salsbury Science Center

o    This ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of education students.

A recent survey showed an impressive 99% of graduates were either employed, attending graduate or professional school, or continuing with additional undergraduate education within six months of graduation. Additionally, 76% of graduates started their careers in South Dakota, and of those, 89% lived in Sioux Falls or within 30 miles.
