University of Sioux Falls Theatre Celebrates Sold-Out Performances in Fall Production of Steel Magnolias

The University of Sioux Falls Theatre department completed a successful fall play last week, November 12-15, drawing strong community support and selling out three of four performances of Steel Magnolias. The production ran in the Meredith Auditorium and showcased the talent and creativity of USF’s theatre program.

A Strong Showing for College Theatre in Sioux Falls

The four-day performance run brought Robert Harling’s classic to life with a cast of USF students who delivered a heartfelt, emotionally rich performance. Audience members praised the show’s blend of humor and depth, as well as the attention to detail in set design, lighting and costuming.

“Our students poured themselves into this production,” said Alecia Juelfs, assistant professor of theater and theater program director. “Their dedication—on stage and behind the scenes—made these performances truly special for our campus and the Sioux Falls community.”

The capacity crowds reflect growing interest in college theatre opportunities in Sioux Falls and continued enthusiasm for USF’s performing arts programs. Students, families, alumni and community members filled the auditorium last week.

Next Up: Catch Me If You Can — March 25–28

USF Theatre will return to the Meredith Auditorium this spring with the high-energy musical Catch Me If You Can. Performances are scheduled for March 25–28, offering students another opportunity to engage in high-quality theatre production and performance.
