A recent survey indicates that 99% of University of Sioux Falls undergraduates from the Class of 2025 were either employed, attending a graduate or professional school program, or continuing with additional undergraduate education within six months of graduation.

"When I reflect on my time at USF—filled with meaningful memories, rigorous classroom discussions, unique opportunities and lasting community connections—the defining factor that made my experience truly memorable was the people. The students, professors and staff all share a commitment to excellence and a sincere desire to help one another grow into the person who God has created each of us to be,” said 2025 graduate Kathryn Fletcher. “I am confident that USF prepared me well—academically, spiritually and personally—for both my dual master's degree in divinity and social work and my lifelong journey to follow.  For that, I am profoundly grateful.”

Eighty percent of 2025 undergraduates started their careers in South Dakota, and of those, 91% are employed in Sioux Falls or within a 20-mile radius. Overall, USF graduates reported working in 11 states.

“USF prides itself on not only providing a transformational educational experience but also in preparing students to enter the workforce,” said USF President Brett Bradfield. “Classroom learning coupled with out-of-classroom experiences set our students up for success. We are fortunate to be a partner in workforce development for the Sioux Falls community and proud of our students for emulating our Culture for Service motto when embarking on their careers.”

Other highlights from survey respondents include that 80% of 2025 undergraduates participated in one or more experiential learning activities such as internships, campus-based research, practicums, clinical experiences, field experiences, service learning experiences and/or student teaching experiences.

Twenty-one percent of respondents reported continuing their education in either a graduate or professional degree program. In addition, students reported 100% placement rates in over three-fourths of academic programs. A 79% response rate to the survey was obtained for the undergraduate Class of 2025, which exceeds the target goal outlined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) of 65%.

Results were equally as impressive for USF’s MBA and graduate education programs. The same study found 99% of graduates were either employed or attending further schooling within six months of graduation, and a strong 93% response rate to the survey was achieved.

Employers can recruit USF talent in a variety of ways, including attending annual career fair events on campus and through USF’s online employment database. All students and alumni have access to the no-cost platform online. Employers looking to get connected with USF students and graduates are encouraged to inquire by emailing asc@usiouxfalls.edu.

Each year, USF Career Services surveys the USF graduating class to assess their post-graduation activities. The methodology of this survey aligns with best practices that are outlined by NACE.
